Jagan Mohan Reddy met party leaders and public representatives from the Kadapa Municipal Corporation in Pulivendula on Monday. He reviewed the election preparations and incidents reported during the nomination process.
YS Jagan asked the leaders about the attacks and threats they said were carried out by TDP leaders and workers during nominations. He also discussed the difficulties faced by party candidates.
He said that using power to suppress the opposition goes against the spirit of democracy. The people’s verdict is final, and attacks and threats cannot stop the democratic process, he said. He called for an impartial inquiry into the reported incidents and legal action against those responsible.
YS Jagan congratulated party leaders and workers who stood firm and entered the election contest despite the attacks and difficulties. He urged them to remain confident, exercise restraint and continue their campaign in a democratic manner.
He asked party leaders to work together for the victory of Kadapa mayoral candidate Bandi Deepti Reddy. He also urged officials to ensure a fair and transparent election and provide candidates with adequate protection.
